Dr. Jim Baeder is the content area expert for this project. His research is focused on computational aerodynamics and aeroacoustics with specific interest in coupling computational fluid dynamics to comprehensive rotor analysis. As the Igor Sikorsky Professor in Aerospace Engineering, Dr. Baeder applies his expertise in the areas of developing and applying Computational Fluid Dynamic methods to better understand and predict rotary aerodynamic, acoustics, and dynamics to wind turbines, including vertical axis wind turbines (VAWT) and offshore wind turbines. Dr. Baeder was a recipient of 澳门开奖网 Energy Administration to develop a graduate level curriculum in offshore wind energy. He is the advisor to the Wind TERPines, a student organization devoted to wind energy. In addition, Dr. Baeder has received research funding from NASA Ames and Langley, the Army Aeroflightdynamics Directorate, the Army Research Office, the Army Research Laboratory, the National Rotorcraft Technology Center, DARPA, and ARPA-E.
